What is user experience ?

When we talk about UX, we mean the actual architecture of your site. Of all that it comprises in terms of its ergonomic and navigation qualities, its content and its design. The best UX design is usually simple, accessible and as a priority, considered for mobile devices. The more engaging your user experience, the more likely you are to convert your users or transform the most innovative ideas or concepts into an application with a positive user experience that is simple and accessible for the greatest number of users.

How can you provide a better user experience?

Analysis of your web project and design

We analyze your project and see what we can offer you in terms of improving, optimizing or redesigning your user experience design. We also observe your competitors’ models and make you a personal proposal. Think about the organization and architecture of your site’s information, focus on your goals, use of the responsive format and the most intuitive and user-centric customer experience possible.

Creation of wireframes

Our team works on the zoning or wireframes of your new site. This is a simplified diagram that usually does not include color. It is entirely black & white and created using tools such as balsamic (open access) or axure. It allows your entire digital team to be involved in discussions about your company’s marketing strategy. Combining marketing, SEO, Design and commercial issues, the goal of this step is to add, delete or modify blocks of content to improve ergonomics and navigation.

Interface Design

This is where the so-called “creative” phase begins. This is the moment when your screens come to life. We go from black and white to color. This is similar to a painter after making pencil sketches or a director going from storyboard to camera. This is the stage where the color and user experience really come to life. This work is done by the graphic designer, also called a webdesigner. With the help of software tools such as Photoshop or Sketch, the designer will create models for different sizes of computer screen, tablet, responsive web design, etc…

Appraisal and AB-Testing

With the 3 previous steps being completed, now you have to deploy, test and measure your performance. What are the results of your user testing? Did the testers think the new version of your site or mobile app gave a great user experience? Does it generate more SEO traffic? Are there more conversions? Is your bounce rate better than before? These design tests will allow you to evolve your prototype into a final version of your website or landing page.

A better customer experience

So the tests have borne fruit and you see a great improvement in your user experience. Improving your user interface design will also allow you to fulfill your business goals and retain your customers. The internet is the same as when you are in a store, if the product layout is good and the visual merchandising is well thought out, then you are likely to buy more.

Traffic increase: SXO

It is the combination of your content marketing and your SEO strategy along with the improvement in your user experience that contributes to better performance and the generation of more traffic to your web pages. For a few years there has been talk about the notion of SXO (Search Experience Optimization), which represents the synergy between the different elements that make up SEO and User Experience.

The 20 best User Experience tips

1. Think of your website as a journey where your users have to get from point A to point B, by understanding their goals and needs.

2. Place the most important information at the top of the page. This is where users are most likely to notice them.

3. A consistent and easy-to-use web interface will help the user to focus on and navigate around the content.

4. Avoid creating dead end pages on your site. This can be confusing for users.

5. Do not reinvent the wheel in interface design.

6. Use scroll in moderation and clearly indicate the direction of scrolling.

7. The longer the website page, the less likely someone is to scroll down.

8. Make sure the users of your site can reach their primary goal quickly and easily.

9. If your page takes too long to load, the user may decide to leave.

10. Mobile interface elements are difficult to use accurately if they are small or have insufficient space.

11. Be extremely vigilant with mobile design. Ask yourself whether users will use the devices with one or two hands.

12. Make sure that CTA buttons are sufficiently large.

13. Provide easy access to your website’s navigation menu.

14. If your site has more than 3-4 levels, it is time to rethink your user experience and your site’s ergonomics.

15. Tell users where they are on your site using a breadcrumb trail

16. Burger menus are very relevant on mobile, much less so on computer.

17. Drop-down menus should be just that, drop-down, not horizontal.

18. Provide a search bar on your site, unless it has very little content.

19. Avoid carousels because each new image erases the memory the previous image. Users can only focus on one thing at a time.

20. Pictograms & icons must visually describe their function and purpose. They must be simple.

21. To make it easier to read long blocks of text, include only one idea per paragraph
